Festive Fitness Fuel


Forget the cookies, this Christmas why not gift your loved ones with a healthy holiday treat!

Giving a berry hued granola is a great way to spread seasonal cheer without contributing to the overload of unhealthy baked goods at every turn this time of year.


Almond-Cranberry Crunch

Ingredients

2 C. Old-fashioned Oats (600)
1 C. Almonds (760)
1 C. Crasins (390)
1/3 C. Apple Juice (40)
1/8 C. Water
1 Tbs. Brown Sugar or Sugar Substitute like Truvia
1/2 Tbs. Cinnamon


Directions

1. Preheat oven to 300.

2. Mix all ingredients together, making sure everything is coated in liquid.


3. Spray a baking sheet with Pam and spread the granola over.

3. Bake for 10 minutes. Take out and flip granola. Bake for 10-15 more minutes.

4. Add extra sugar and cinnamon as needed.

Total Calories: about 150
per 1/4 cup. Makes 12 servings.
