Not like that! Don’t be perverse :)
I’m talking about an awesome new group fitness class created by my good friend Cristina Peerenboom. You may remember her from previous posts like this and this.
Well this sports science genius has another token of wisdom to share with you, and the world.
Her groundbreaking new cardio/dance/jam session is the latest and greatest workout to hit the gym.
It’s called Pound and is performed by, you guessed it, pounding your way to a perfect body.
This “Rockout. Workout” is done using weighted drumsticks and breaking it down to your favorite beats.
I tried it out a few weekends ago, and it beat the crap out of me. I was literally walking bow-legged for the next three days. (Again, mind out of the gutter!)
Tapping your way through the hottest jams like Rihanna’s S&M, Cristina carves your muscles with constantly changing moves.
One minute you’re pounding your way through power squats, the next you’re blasting thorough a whole track on your belly doing the superman.
By the end of the class my legs, arms, stomach, and back (especially back) were burning.
It’s really a total body workout that strengthens and tones muscles while burning major calories. But the best part is that it’s so fun you don’t realize how hard you’re working.
The day I went, Cristina and her partner Kirsten Potenza were taping a promo video for their website. Yeah, they’re kind of a big deal.
The ladies just signed a deal with Crunch and soon you’ll be able to find the class in gyms across the nation.
They’re also working on instructional DVD’s so you can get Pounded in the privacy of your own home (Ok, now that reference was intentional).
Check out the video here:

If you watch closely you can catch me at 00:29 in the all black number for a fraction of a second!
To try this amazing class, check the schedule on their website. And stay tuned for their home fitness videos.
