Cruising the California Coast: Day 1

Day One: Watching the elephant seals bask in the sun.

 We caught these lazy seals taking a nap on the beach just north of San Simeon along Highway 1.

They were so adorable, just flopping around and laying on top of each other. I was very tempted to sneak under the rail to get a closer look. 

But then I would have just wanted to pet them, and one thing would have led to another, and I'd be sitting in a jail cell for seal harassment instead of my comfy hotel.

Between these guys and the breathtaking ocean views, I was absolutely amazed at the natural beauty of the California coast. Can't believe it took me so long to get out here.
