Feeling Chili?


Whether you're feeling cold or fighting a cold, when you're feeling chilly the best way to warm up is with a hot homemade bowl of the good stuff.

Made with fat-free ground turkey and three types of beans, this healthy hearty chili is sure you have you feeling toasty in no time.

Three Bean Totally Lean Turkey Chili

1 lb 99.8% Fat-Free Jennie O' Ground Turkey (480 cals)
28 oz. diced low sodium Tomatoes (175)
16 oz. can of Beans (black, kidney, and pinto) (455)
8 oz. low sodium Tomato Sauce (70)
1 Green Pepper (30)
1 Onion (30)
1/2 c. Celery (10)
1/2 c. Water
2 Tbs. Worcestershire Sauce
2 diced Garlic Cloves
1 Tbs. Oregano
Salt and Pepper

*1 Tbs. Chili Powder, optional

Directions

1. Saute diced onions, celery, and green pepper in a large saucepan with Pam spray until cooked through.


2. Add turkey (maybe more Pam), and cook until brown.


3. Add all other ingredients except beans. Stir then cover and simmer for about 45 minutes.


4. Add beans and cook an additional 10 minutes.

5. Serve with fat-free sour cream, fat-free cheddar, and whole grain corn muffins!

Total Calories: 208, serves 6.


I found this fabulous recipe for corn muffins from Hungry Girl, and substituted whole wheat flour for the white, and left out the cheese and scallions. Hers are only 85 calories but since I ditched the cheese, mine are only about 70!

This tasty combo is sure to keep the winter sniffles away :)
