Just because we've had a few nice days in the 70's, doesn't mean Winter is over yet.
And with Ski resorts around the area open until late April, you've still got time to benefit from booty-shaping winter workouts.
To tell you just how great grinding is for your body is professional halfpipe snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler, who gave me the inside scoop on her diet and fitness secrets.

And with Ski resorts around the area open until late April, you've still got time to benefit from booty-shaping winter workouts.
To tell you just how great grinding is for your body is professional halfpipe snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler, who gave me the inside scoop on her diet and fitness secrets.
Check out our interview below:
Q: Why is snowboarding such an amazing workout?
A: "Snowboarding is a great way to get outside and move your body! Riding the halfpipe takes it to another level too because not only are you riding walls that are 22 feet tall but after you're finished with them generally you take your board off and hike back up to the top to do it again. Hiking, spinning, flipping and just holding speed in the halfpipe is such a great way to get an all over body workout."
Q: What other fitness activities do you like to do?
A: "I love to surf, practice yoga, hike, mountain bike, run and play tennis."
Q: Do you have a trainer? If not, where do you get your fitness advice/recommendations from?
A: "I've been working with a physical therapist and trainer named Brad Jones who owns The B Project in Carlsbad, CA for the past 6 years."
Q: Do you follow a diet plan?
A: "I just started working with a friend who's going to school to be a nutritionist to help me with my diet. Having a nutritious, balanced diet can really help for optimum health and performance in everyday life."
Q: What are your favorite health foods?
A: "I love a nice kale and quinoa salad, Greek yogurt with fruit and granola in the mornings, and eggs with veggies and black beans on a baked potato."
Q: What are your guilty pleasures?
A: "I love chocolate desserts; chocolate chip cookies, brownies, chocolate shakes. My motto in the winter time is everything in moderation because I'm always physically working so hard I don't limit myself!"
Q: How do you stay motivated when you're tired or burnt out?
A: "Setting both long term and short term goals is a way to give your everyday life direction. When you don't have a direction it's easy to lose your way. But when you've got goals, it's a lot easier to know what you have to do. So even on those days when you're feeling burned out or tired; you have a higher purpose for pushing through."
Another great way to stay motivated is to document your fitness progress with pictures. Bleiler recently collaborated with HOLGA cameras and created her own camera design.
