Passed my exam and am now a certified "Mobility Specialist". This is just one more step on my journey. I have far more work to do practicing and implementing the techniques into my own training before I could really consider myself a "Specialist".
Training is a life-long journey, and I don't ever want to stop learning or challenging myself in new ways! To become a Specialist in something, one must dedicate practice to that specialty, sometimes at the expense of other areas of practice. The problem, for me, is that I do not want to be a Specialist in any one area. I want to be a Generalist .... capable in many areas.
Having said that, FRC training is a Specialty that improves all other areas of practice! Mobility is a key to optimal movement in all athletic activity. It is a key to substantially reducing the risk of injury and long term damage. It is a key to rehabilitating injuries and limitations in movement. It is a key to healthy movement in our senior years. Therefore, my goal is to "specialize" in mobility, while maintaining my "generalist" nature in all other activities.
